A project by Alternative Tourism Association, FreeTours.ro is a national hub meant to bring together local initiatives and facilitate their replication in new cities.

We want to reach 8 cities in the next 2-3 years, and in the long term at least 15, thus contributing to the cultural and economic development of local communities.

In the long term, the platform will contribute to expanding the network to other cities, replicating the model, and developing an active community with a local and national impact.

Learn more about free tours and the concept of free tours, an alternative model of urban tourism that has developed rapidly globally in the last 20 years, changing the way travelers discover cities.

If you click on the attached image, you can find out more about what a free tour entails, when the concept of free tours appeared worldwide, when it was first implemented in Romania, but also when we laid the foundations of the first project of this kind and what followed.

RESOURCES

In addition to expanding and promoting the network of cities where we offer free tours, FreeTours.ro also wants to offer a series of useful resources to those interested in alternative tourism, unique experiences, and trips that will forever stay in your heart.

We will provide resources to both tourists – related to free tours, excursions and unusual experiences, or about the "less touristy" objectives of Romanian cities – and to tour guides – related to the advantages of alternative tourism and free tours.

We haven't forgotten about those passionate about tourism and history who want to become tour guides, so we've prepared something for them too. Click on the image below and find out the details!

Support us!

Almost everything we've done in the last ten years or so has been done with our own resources. On our time, with our own money, with passion and dedication.

Initially, we relied on our own contributions and donations from tourists. Then, with the help of Form 230, through which dozens of people redirected part of their income tax, we were able to develop the projects in the directions we wanted. We also had and continue to have support from companies operating in the western part of the country, and this allowed us to expand to other cities.
